2024 Workshop Fee, Housing and transport information
($1,300 USD) – workshop program with economy housing for 12-nights, (single-room accommodation in one or two-bedroom houses with self-contained kitchens, bathrooms and free WiFi). *participants who wish to arrange their own accommodation are charged USD $800 to cover tuition, group meals, excursions and airport transfers. The Laborie Development Foundation can suggest options for accommodation.
Workshop package includes: (4) 2-hour master classes and group lessons, (10) 2.75- hour steel band rehearsals, Jam session ("Live at Mama Rose!") with Andy Narell, Laborie concert performance, meals at local restaurants, Beach BBQ picnic, excursions: swim/hike, visit to the famous sulphur hot springs, visit to Balenbouche estate, Laborie village tour, excursion transportation and entrance fees, housing (12 nights), and Laborie Steel Pan instrument use.
*Tuition covers housing from Jan 3-15. (12 nights) If workshop participants want to extend their stay we can make arrangements for $75 USD per night.
*Round-trip airfare to either airport in Saint Lucia (SLU) George F.L. Charles airport in Castries, or (UVF) Hewanorra International airport in Vieux-Fort., and meals not listed in the workshop inclusions will be the responsibility of the individual participants.
Participants should plan to arrive on Wed. Jan. 3, 2023. The workshop program begins on Thursday, Jan. 4th culminating in the workshop concert on Sunday, Jan. 14th.
*Airport transfer from (UVF) is included. We are 15 minutes from UVF. Round trip transfers from/to (SLU) will cost an extra US$150 due to airport distance from Laborie (1.5 hours by car). In either case, we will arrange to have you picked up and taken to the airport for departure.
